Kinda cool. Kinda gross.
I used to work with this guy Steve at an agency a long time ago…he was this young dude straight out of school, but he was so damn good it made the rest of us look like chumps. He’s since gone on to be an Art Director for a major footwear brand, and then recently launched his own shop. Pretty sure he’ll end up running the design world in California and the rest of us will all be working for him in the near future.
The cool thing is that Steve stays in touch and occasionally asks me to work on projects with him…so I always say yes because, in all honesty, he’s kind of the nicest guy with the most talent that I have ever met…and also it means I get to put super rad looking stuff in my portfolio.
Here’s one of those rad looking things. It’s a little overview of how the new DNA testing kit from Ancestry.com makes it easy to find out more about your family and their origins. The style is cool, I got to do a couple of goofy things in there, and the client approved it in one round of review…that is 100% due to Steve’s direction and talent. Clients know that he ‘gets it’ and will deliver the perfect solution. Seriously, you should all just get your resumés ready to send to the new design king of California.
