So. Much. Fun.

Look, I love kids. Mine is obviously the best, but others are pretty cool, too. When the fine folks at Instrument brought me in to help build out a season of content for Nike Kids, I was all like “oh hell yes”.

The original concept was super fun, and I really appreciate the Directors and crew at Instrument for listening to my ideas for how we could expand and build out a sizable content library to use not only for this but for future Nike Kids projects, as well.

And that’s what you see here. There were several fun videos of kids being WAY more talented than you can imagine, and it was a joy to edit those together, but the below image shows the technical foundation I built to enable an incredibly efficient process for what was originally thought to be a scramble. What’s that quote about “an ounce of prevention”?

I built out really dynamic and flexible (and animated) Title and Text components, with all the art-directable controls you could ask for.

I also, and I’m pretty damn proud of this part, built a system to dynamically fill, recolor, or outline illustrations…and the cool part is that it worked on all the animated graphics I made (nearly 300!), too.

And, if that weren’t enough, I made them all into animated gifs to be used as stickers on Instagram.

Thanks for the trust and confidence, Instrument. This was a real pleasure to work on.
